Let's face it, most of us are not very good at our personal finances. It dawned on me the other day that when I did not work for a financial services company and before I was married to a financial planner, I was terrible at my personal finances. I only got in control of my finances when I stopped doing anything. What I mean is I am not really actually involved in managing my finances.
Sure, I know my credit score, my debt load is fine, I save money each month but I dont really do anything to make this happen, except not spend like crazy. The best thing I did was hand over all daily management to our company PPS. Our CEO and I were joking the other day that in order to really help American consumers, someone needed to simply pay their bills, calculate expenses, automatically save on their behalf and argue with vendors when needed. Otherwise, the consumer doesn't do it. So, the new trend in personal financial management, do nothing, have someone else do it for you!
